Shuichi Kashiwagi
Background
Following his admission to the Japan Bar in 1980, Mr. Shuichi Kashiwagi gained legal and business experience working and studying in both London and New York for about five years. He works closely with the firm's clients in a wide variety of domestic and international business litigation and corporate matters, including general corporate matters, commercial transactions, including anti-trust law matters, commercial litigation, arbitration, energy law, intellectual property, and trade regulation matters. He has been a member of the board (1999‐2022) and a statutory auditor (2022‐) of the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association and a Conciliation Commissioner of the Tokyo District Court (2014‐). He has also served as a member of the board of directors and the auditing committee of Naigai Co., Ltd. (2016‐2022) and as a statutory auditor (2017‐2021) and outside board member (2021‐) of Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd..

Recognitions / Awards
Received the 2023 Award of the Kanto Federation of Bar Associations (“KFBA”) recognizing his contributions as the chairperson of its Financial Committee from 2017 to 2019, to rehabilitate KFBA’s finances by changing annual financial defects to surplus for the first time in its recorded history. (Note: KFBA is the federation of twelve local bar associations in the Kanto and Ko-Shin’etsu Regions in Japan.)
